Biography

I am a Decatur native. I was raised in Argenta-Oreana and grew up with an interest in athletics, specifically basketball and soccer. After graduating high school, I attended Millikin University where I was recruited to play soccer but instead played one year of basketball. Upon graduating from Millikin I decided teaching would not be my career and instead began a master’s program in political science, which eventually turned into heading to law school.

I have been practicing law since 2009, handling various matters at the trial court level and have argued a case in front of the Fourth District Appellate Court. The majority of my practice is focused upon trial work (i.e. criminal law, marital law, personal injury, worker’s compensation); however, there are areas of my practice which are focused on transactional matters (i.e. real estate, estate planning, contract drafting).

When I am not practicing law, I spend my time being active in the community. I sit on the Board of Directors for the Decatur Macon County Opportunities Corporation and was actively involved in the Grow Decatur and Club 501 initiatives, and local politics.

I have been married to my lovely wife Josie since October 2011.
